Family owned & operated, Star Diner was established in 2017.

In an old Gulf station at the end quaint Marshall, NC, sits the Star Diner. After years of being abandoned, the building was lovingly, and painstakingly, refurbished over the last 9 years using many period pieces and interesting artwork.

Once a shell of a building, the Star Diner has been transformed into a magical place, taking diners back in time. After 15 years as Executive Chef of Tupelo Honey Cafe, Brian Sonoskus has taken on his role as Chef and General Manager at the Star. 

With only 11 tables, serving upscale contemporary cuisine, Brian relishes in his ability to flex his artistic muscles, spend time with tables, and oversee every aspect of service. About six months into the venture, Brian's wife Kate - whom he met 14 years ago at Tupelo Honey - returned to the work force after 9 years at home with their two children. Together, the team will provide an experience like you'd never expect off the beaten path in Marshall NC.
